Fun in the Sun!

Standard

One of the best parts of being a teacher is getting to spend the summer with my kids.  Yes, sometimes it’s hard having only conversations with a 5 and 2 year-old for 5 days straight.  But most days, they are really a lot of fun!  Today we blew up the giant inflatable pool, put out the shade tent, and had some fun in the sun!

It was a blast!  We made lemonade and the kids made “pirate soup”.  Jonah showed off what a total ham he is – ALWAYS!

There was some hugging, which of course turned to wrestling.

Oh, and OF COURSE there was an impromptu dance party, duh!

ImageBeing a working mom is great for 9 months out of the year, but I will definitely take being a stay-at-home mom for 2 1/2 months out of the year!  Especially with these little hooligans!

  1. This one had me laughing out loud. Man, I love those kids! Love the ones of them hugging & dancing, and that last one of Lilly Bug is adorable! Those two hooligans are the funniest (and most fun) kids I know. I can never get enough of them. So…. what goes into Pirate Soup? Is that paleo? I guess so, since it was developed by pirates and all. Arrgh!

Great to see the pictures of the kids in the pool. It looks like so much fun. I think Jonah would grow gills if it was possible. He really inherited Mike’s love of water. For Lilly it seems to be more about hanging out with big brother. BTW … What are the kids staring at in the next to last picture? Was something in the water?

    • Haha! I had to go back and look! No, they were dancing, but they both just happened to look down at the same time. Jonah might have thrown a pirate mid-dance though. 🙂 They have been having a blast out there. Jonah is definitely a fish and Lilly is coming around. She likes to swim, especially with her LadyBug float on! I’ll have to post pictures from our trip to the lake – she wouldn’t let anyone help her swim!
